Suspecting false surgical documentation made by surgeon, the Commission transferred case to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office

A plastic surgeon in Taipei City used an unproven silicone gel for breast implant on a patient and was accused of violating the Physician Act by the Department of Health of Taipei City Government. He then filed an appeal to the Administrative Appeals Commission of the Taipei City Government but was dismissed after review, and the Commission transferred the case to the Taipei Distric Prosecutors Office for suspicion of violating the Criminal Code in which the surgeon made a false surgical documentation. The Taiwan High Court then rendered a sentenced of six months imprisonment to the surgeon.

According to the Criminal Code the Taipei Appeals Commission reports and transfers the case to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office on suspicion of additional crime committed during handling of cases. Aside from this particular case, the Commission had also dealt with the appeal case with forged signature and transferred the case to the TDPO. The Commission would like to make a reminder that all infractions of the law will be prosecuted. Full Text
